Dust off your panniers and dig out the padded shorts... BikeforDGH is heading back to the Himalayas in September.

Tenzing Norsang, Chairman of the Dr Graham's Homes alumni association (and master route-designer), tells us he's currently working on the details for next year's event. And it sounds like it's going to be even better than ever.

BikeforDGH is one of the most popular fundraisers on the DGH calendar. It was inspired by the legendary 3Ks Tour that our own Honorary VP, Rev John Webster, started in 2006. So next year's adventure will be a 20th anniversary of sorts.

The event takes place every two years and generates vital funds for the campus where our sponsored children live and study. Past rides have raised funds for earthquake repairs, the school sports facilities, and for pupil sponsorships.

And the good news is that Tenzing and team will shortly be looking for a new group of amateur cyclists to join them. Here's everything we know so far...

A spectacular new route 🏔️

BikeforDGH '26 will be one of the longest rides to date: 350 miles of breathtaking landscapes and winding mountain roads. It starts in Kathmandu, Nepal on 16 September 2026 and will finish six days later at Dr Graham's Homes, Kalimpong, India on 21 September. If you've never been to the Himalayas before, it's a chance to experience this part of the world in a really unique way. Tenzing describes the ride as a "slow, soulful and scenic ride through the heart of the Himalayas - not for speed but for spirit. You'll connect with communities, share stories, and make lifelong friends."

Designed for every type of cyclist 🚴‍♂️

You don't need to be a pro to take part in BikeforDGH; you just need an adventurous spirit, plenty of pluck - and your own bike. Most BikeforDGH riders are amateur cyclists who are willing to train a little and push their limits, says Tenzing. "It's a challenge, not a stroll, but we promise it’s worth it!" The ride is fully supported, with backup vehicles and expert logistics throughout. Travel coordination on the India side will be handled by HEAT Travels, meaning you can focus on the road ahead rather than the details behind.

All for a brilliant cause 👏

It isn't just a ride, of course. It's also a pledge to make a difference. Each rider will be aiming to raise at least $1,500 (circa £1,100) to support the school and children. Riders cover their own expenses, which means every pound raised goes directly to a great cause. And when you arrive at Dr Graham's Homes after six days in the saddle, you'll understand exactly what your efforts mean - lots of smiling faces, grateful staff, and the knowledge that you've left a lasting impact.

Ready to ride? 🚵

Tenzing is currently working on the finer details for BikeforDGH 2026, and we'll be supplying more updates on the route and logistics over the coming months. He's also running an online meeting on Sunday 21 December (at 3pm UK time), where you can find out more about this year's ride, and ask questions, if you're interested in taking part. To sign up for that, please drop him an email here to register your interest. He'll be delighted to hear from you.

Online meeting times, wherever you are in the world 👆🏽
